| Hanaa Helmy, CEO
A social entrepreneur and Ashoka fellow, Helmy has devoted the last ten years to working with disabled children in the Arab world in their efforts to become productive members of society. Founder of MOVE (Mobility Opportunities Via Education) Middle East, an organization that provides children with severe disabilities new opportunities for fuller participation and inclusion in the community, Helmy is also the Managing Director of The Children's Center in Maadi. She is a Certified International Trainer for the American-developed MOVE program which helps disabled children sit, stand and walk. Helmy holds a BSc degree from Alexandria University and a degree in computer science from the United States. She spent eight years at Mellon Bank in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, progressing from a computer programmer to a systems coordinator for the securities movement and control team. Helmy also stared and grew her own business in the United States that included a children's furniture shop.
